Interview with FreeU Anaissa
First of all, thank you very much for accepting the proposal to collaborate with the Estudio E-Commerce blog. Through this interview we aim to encourage future entrepreneurs to carry out their projects. To see the reality of the entrepreneurial world, the advantages and disadvantages it has and to have as a reference the successes and mistakes of others like them to learn from experience. In short, to see how other companies are doing it to motivate them in their foray into the world of digital transformation.
Below are the questions we asked so you can tell us a little more about the FreeU Anaissa project.
Oh, I love telling this story! FreeU Anaissa is really the evolution of a beautiful family project that my father started back in 1970. I'm talking about a time when the textile industry in Valencia was pure art and tradition.
When I took over in 2021, I was very clear that I wanted to maintain that family essence but adapt it to what we, women of today, really need. And that's how FreeU was born, a name that couldn't be more appropriate because it's about exactly that: freedom. Hence our motto "Feel Free", which perfectly sums up what we want to convey.
When we started this project we had two things very clear: we wanted to make life easier for women (which is already complicated enough!) and to do it in an environmentally responsible way. It seemed to me that it was the perfect time to offer products that would not only help us, but would also contribute to family savings and be sustainable.
At FreeU Anaissa we are like that friend who is always researching to find solutions that really work. We manufacture everything in Valencia, which allows us to control every last detail. We started with menstrual panties , but now we have a complete range: comfortable thongs, bikinis for the pool, special panties for urine loss and even with technology that relieves menstrual pain. We also have other products in our catalogue such as hemp oil or menstrual cups, because every woman is different and we seek to adapt to them. We don't just sell products: we create real solutions for real problems.
We are lucky enough to be able to support women at all stages! From those first periods of our 12-year-old teenagers (such important moments!) to more mature women looking for solutions for urinary incontinence. The beautiful thing is that they all have one thing in common: they are conscious women who care about the planet and, let's be honest, their wallets too.
To keep them up to date, we have a lot of initiatives that we love: emails and SMS with news and discounts, but what we are most excited about is participating in workshops on menstruation in schools and institutes. And something that works really well for us is the live broadcasts on social networks ! There we resolve doubts in real time and share experiences to have a closer relationship and humanize the brand. We also have a YouTube channel where we publish real testimonials. It's like having a chat between friends, but with thousands of women at the same time.
The truth is that we have diversified our online sales channels quite a bit. We work with several specialized marketplaces, especially in the pharmaceutical and underwear sectors. We also participate in flash sales platforms, which allow us to reach new customers who may not have known about us. But the most important thing for us continues to be our own online store, where we can offer the complete FreeU Anaissa experience and a more personalized service.
To be honest, each marketplace has its own audience and helps us reach different types of customers. For example, in online pharmacies we find women who are looking for more specific products, such as our solutions for urinary incontinence, while on fashion platforms we reach a younger audience looking for our menstrual panties and bikinis .
Look, we have everything very well organized. Our warehouse is right in the factory in Valencia, which makes our life much easier. All orders come directly from there, so we control the entire process from start to finish .
It's a huge advantage because we can oversee every detail: from the moment the product is manufactured to the moment the package leaves the door. Plus, having everything centralized makes returns easier to manage as well. And believe me, this is something that customers really appreciate! There's nothing worse than having problems with a return...
The truth is that this system allows us to be very efficient and maintain that personal relationship that characterizes us so much. When you know exactly where everything is and you control the entire process, it is much easier to provide good service.
The main advantage here is very clear: convenience. I find it very funny when I receive messages from clients who have placed their order in their pajamas at eleven at night. That's freedom! And the best thing is that they have it at home in 24-48 hours if they are in Spain, or in 72 hours if they are in Europe.
The disadvantage? Well, they can't touch the product or try it on before buying it. But we've found a way to get around that: we have a fantastic customer service team that is amazing. Whether by email or through our WhatsApp chat , we resolve all doubts about sizes, fabrics or whatever they need. Sometimes they even ask us for advice on which model would best suit their teenage daughter! It's like having an expert friend on the other side of the screen.
Phew, I'm getting a bit technical here, but I'll try to simplify it! We pay a lot of attention to who buys from us: their age, what products they're most interested in, their purchasing power... It's like getting to know a friend. You need to know what they like and what they need in order to help them better. We have a very well-defined target audience.
We also keep a close eye on the conversion rate, which is basically how many people who visit us end up buying. This helps us to remarket more effectively and improve the percentage of abandoned carts recovered.
And something we love and are very focused on now is analyzing which blog posts perform best. It's not all about quantity, but quality. It gives us a lot of clues about what topics our clients are most concerned about and what information they are really looking for.
At Anaissa we never stand still. We are constantly evolving, always attentive to what our clients need and the latest innovations in the sector. Our great challenge is to continue being that benchmark in sustainable menstrual products that women trust. We want to help all of us live our cycle in a more natural and safe way, without taboos and feeling proud of being women.
