Anaissa and the color of the year 2015: Marsala
In 2000, coinciding with the beginning of the new century, Pantone, the international company that created the color definition system, began publishing what they called the Color of the Year . Since then, year after year, Pantone announces to the world which color has been chosen to star in the following 12 months and as if by magic, everything is dyed that color: catwalks, decorative objects, stores around the world, makeup and almost any object we can imagine.
Many people wonder whether Pantone chooses the colour of the year at random or on a whim, or whether it responds to the demands of brands. According to Pantone executives, the colour of the year is chosen by consensus among several experts, responds to the global social climate and the energy that is believed to be needed through a colour at a given time.
The colour chosen for 2015 was Marsala, a shade very similar to maroon or burgundy. In fact, the name Marsala also refers to a wine that originated in the Italian city of the same name. It is a colour with red tones that provide energy and strength, and at the same time with brown nuances that connote more serenity. Perhaps the greatest positive point of the Marsala colour this year is that it is a timeless colour, therefore, all the clothes and objects that we buy in this colour can be used for a long time. In addition, it is a shade that allows for many combinations.
At Anaissa, without knowing that Marsala was going to be the Color of 2015 , and thus anticipating the trend, we already included several Marsala-colored garments in our catalog. Coincidence or intuition? Probably a combination of both ;)
The Emana fiber anti-cellulite leggings are one of the Marsala-colored garments in the Anaissa catalog. If you are not familiar with Emana fiber and want to know more, read the following article.
As we mentioned a few paragraphs earlier, Marsala is a timeless colour: it can be used in a classic or more modern way. However, there are certain tricks to combine it that help us get the most out of it. For example, if what we are looking for in our look is contrast or a more informal air, we can choose to combine it with certain shades of green or yellow with which it contrasts very well, as seen in the image below.
If, on the other hand, we want to combine the marsala colour with the aim of achieving a more elegant look, it will help us a lot to combine it with greys, makeup colours or even dark burgundy, following the same tonal family. In this sense, using a marsala-coloured garment with accessories in a makeup or grey colour will give us a very elegant style. For example, some pretty grey or makeup shoes will enhance any marsala-coloured dress.
To achieve an evening or party look, it is recommended to combine the marsala color with accessories or details in the outfit in black and gold. This combination will make the marsala color and the accessories used stand out even more.
