September, month of fairs
The second edition of MOMAD Metrópolis, the International Textile and Accessories Fair, was a very positive event, which can be summarised in figures as follows: 18,500 visitors, 13,642 of them professionals, representing 7.5% more than the previous edition; 432 direct exhibitors and more than 900 fashion brands represented. The 15,000 square metres of exhibition space give us an idea of the magnitude of the event.
The success of this edition was helped by the confluence in space and time of MOMAD Shoes (International Footwear and Accessories Show) and other fairs such as Intergift, Bisutex and MadridJoya. This coincidence generated important synergies between all the shows, making Madrid the European fashion capital during the weekend of 9-11 September.
MOMAD Metrópolis attracted professionals from all over Spain, particularly Madrid, Andalusia, Valencia, Galicia, Catalonia and the Basque Country. On the international side, the fair attracted buyers from 87 countries, including Germany, France, Greece, Italy, Chile and Portugal.
The brands represented presented their proposals for Autumn/Winter '16 and Spring/Summer '17. Among these brands were many of the national and international references in fashion and design. Among them we can highlight Roberto Verino, Alba Conde, Anna Mora, Extreme Collection, Tifossi, Solid, Lois España, Almatrichi, Petrol or Charo Azcona .
The exhibitors are fully satisfied and have positively assessed the development of the show. This resounding success of the fair reinforces the idea that the sector faces the future with optimism, after overcoming difficult times due to the economic situation.
The evaluation by employment agencies and specialized job portals was also highly positive and they point out that the contacts in this edition were more productive, since among the visitors there were more companies interested in the service we offer and fewer people who are just curious.
Sustainable fashion had a prominent presence at this fair, which renewed and expanded its commitment to this segment, made up of brands that are characterized by sustainable production, marketing or distribution.
September is definitely a month characterized by the great confluence of fashion events and, in addition to MOMAD Metrópolis, another essential event was held in Madrid, the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, now in its 64th edition.
The major Spanish fashion event was held from 15 to 20 September and, like MOMAD, was organised by IFEMA.
41 prominent Spanish designers and one international designer took part in a Fashion Week that once again became a benchmark in the world of fashion at an international level and which demonstrates the great creative moment that Spanish design is going through.
As expected, Anaissa was present at both fairs, closely following the latest fashion trends in Spain. We want to be at the forefront in terms of design, fabrics, colours... and to do so, it is essential to actively participate in these events. We consider these visits to be very useful when designing our leggings, underwear, slimming girdles, reducing tights and sportswear.
These fairs have confirmed the trend we were following in both leggings and sportswear.
Treggings are making a strong entrance into the market. They are hybrids between trousers and leggings. They can be considered leggings with real seams and details, not just prints. They are like skinny jeans but more elastic. Among our treggings we can mention Camouflage, Garden, Sheyla and Wonder.

In sportswear we have seen how fluorescent colours or layering (superposition of layers) that we have introduced in our garments are becoming popular in the market.
Privalia and Vente Privee invited us to LIGHT IT UP on the evening of September 9th, a fantastic party celebrating Privalia's tenth anniversary. The event took place the same weekend as MOMAD Metrópolis and of course we were delighted to attend. We enjoyed a magical evening in the company of the owners of Vente-Privee and Privalia, the hosts of the party, the buyers and more than 500 suppliers. The celebration included the special participation of Laura Sánchez, one of the most prominent actresses and models on the national scene.
