Our Frequently Asked Questions
Depending on your style, menstrual underwear can be a complete replacement for disposable menstrual hygiene products (pads, tampons, sanitary napkins) OR can work in conjunction with them. It all depends on how heavy your flow is and what you find most comfortable.
This depends on whether you use them alone or in combination with other menstrual hygiene products and how often you change them. We have menstrual underwear for very heavy flows that can be worn for up to 12 hours, but also those that absorb only 5 ml and are often used as a complement to a cup.
The best approach is to start with 2 or 3 pairs, see how it all works, and adjust the number of pairs based on how frequently you’ll change them and how often you can wash them.
YES! If you experience light urine leaks (e.g., when sneezing or jumping), you can use menstrual underwear to catch the leaks. They are breathable, odor-resistant, super absorbent, leak-proof, stain-resistant, and wick moisture away from the skin to keep you comfortable all day long.
And if you have a more significant issue with bladder incontinence, we also offer special underwear models for this occasion.
Yes, but the amount of blood lost after childbirth can vary greatly from person to person. You have 2 options: either buy postpartum underwear or for very heavy bleeding and then only use these underwear, but you should have several pairs so you have time to wash them. The second option is to buy underwear with less absorbency and then use them as additional protection in the first week after childbirth, and then without additional menstrual products. And after giving birth, you can use them during a regular period.
The only difference is the absorbent insert, which makes the underwear in the crotch area a little thicker than regular underwear.
Menstrual underwear can be washed by hand or in a washing machine. Rinsing the dirty underwear in cold water before hand or machine washing helps remove as much blood as possible and prevents stains. Then you can place them in the washing machine, run them on a gentle cycle with cold water, and hang them to dry. Remember not to use fabric softeners as they reduce absorbency.
The lifespan of a pair of menstrual underwear varies greatly depending on how they are cared for and how often they are used. Generally, they last from 2 to 5 years, depending on washing and care. Underwear is considered a delicate product, so the elastic band and thread may become damaged during use. However, this will not affect the effectiveness of the absorbency built into the gusset.
