Anaissa: textile manufacturing committed to the environment and health

Anaissa is a brand committed to being respectful of the environment in its manufacturing, as well as the health of its consumers. For this reason, during the manufacturing process of our garments there is no residual waste, in order to reduce the environmental impact, and in turn, there are no harmful substances present in our fabrics.

Since 2014, Anaissa has guaranteed the quality and ecology of its products under the international OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification . To obtain this certification, all stages of the manufacturing process and the products produced are subjected to strict controls and periodic laboratory analysis. In fact, the more contact the product has with the skin, the stricter the requirements it must meet. In this way, they ensure that textile products with the OEKO-TEX® quality seal have properties that are harmless to the skin and do not harm the health of consumers.

Do you know how the brands you consume are manufactured?

In most cases, consumers are unaware of how the textile products they buy are made. This is certainly not due to a lack of interest on the part of consumers, but rather due to a lack of information, as they are not provided with this type of knowledge. In fact, there are more and more people who are concerned about the environment, who want to make responsible purchases, and above all, who are concerned about how the products they buy affect their health and that of their family.

For all these reasons, it is important to check the labels on the clothes we buy and see what information they provide. On the one hand, the country in which the garment is made gives us many clues about the manufacturing process and the chemical substances used, since we know that there are countries with very lax legislation regarding components in manufacturing and safety for human health. On the other hand, if the garment we are going to buy has an ecological certificate on its label, we can rest easy when buying because we have all the necessary health guarantees because it certifies that it is free of harmful substances that could harm our skin.

Garments produced under the international OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification are labelled with this logo. It is important that we learn to recognise it.

What are the health risks of wearing clothing containing harmful substances?

Among the many harmful substances that can be present in the fabrics we buy in regular stores are phthalates, azo dyes, alkylphenols, brominated compounds, organic stannous, perfluorinated, ethoxylated nonylphenols (NPE) or heavy metals. For those of us who do not have advanced knowledge of chemistry, these names do not sound familiar and we do not know their effects at first, but it is known that all these substances are poisonous to humans, and some of them are even considered carcinogenic substances and hormone disruptors. Greenpeace has carried out the Detox campaign to inform the population about chemical substances in the textile industry. If you want to know more, we recommend reading the report they made after analyzing garments from brands around the world.

Luckily, it's not all bad news. Nowadays, more and more brands, like Anaissa, are concerned about the environmental impact of our industry and offering products that are 100% safe for people's health.

You can safely buy garments manufactured under the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification and with labels from Trusted Textiles. This way you can be sure that:

  • Allergies and dermatitis are avoided, especially for people with sensitive skin.

  • In addition to the basic fabric, the certification system also analyses the seams, interlinings, engravings and non-textile accessories such as buttons, zippers, rivets, etc.

  • You protect your skin, taking special care with clothing in contact with intimate areas and the most delicate areas of the skin.

  • Certified garments must have a pH value suitable for the skin.
