Face the heat wave with Anaissa.
- You should drink plenty of water without being thirsty. Drink between seven and eight glasses a day (which is approximately 2 litres) as this is necessary to stay properly hydrated in such high temperatures. In the case of children and the elderly, you should be more vigilant, especially if you are alone, and in addition to water, it is advisable to drink isotonic drinks to recover mineral salts.
- Avoid heavy meals, eat lots of fruit and vegetables. In the stifling heat, we should eat light and fresh meals because they always help digestion and mitigate the effects of the heat. We should eat smaller meals more often a day, not only does it help us feel better but it is healthier.
- Avoid going out during the central hours of the day and spend most of the time in cool, shaded or air-conditioned places. At home, it is recommended to rest in cooler areas and regulate the temperature at night, since the body cools down during sleep.
- As we have said before, we should avoid the hottest hours, that is, between 12 noon and 5 pm, more or less, but if you cannot avoid going out, wear cotton clothes and light colors (dark colors absorb more heat). In addition to carrying water to drink (as we have said before), you can use it to wet your clothes a little and thus walk a little cooler.
- Don't forget sun protection for your skin. In the case of babies, their skin is much more sensitive and exposure to the sun can cause serious burns. It is always better to use a high and appropriate factor, and you should leave the house already covered in the protection of your choice. Wearing sunglasses and a hat helps protect the eyes of little ones and protect them from heat stroke.
- When you walk down the street, you should walk on the sidewalk with the most shade . It seems obvious, but sometimes we don't realize it and we walk on the sidewalk with the most sun.
- At the beach or pool, spend most of your time under the umbrella (and don't forget to put on sunscreen). In addition, getting wet every 20 or 30 minutes is the best way to lower your body temperature due to the heat.
